The learning curve was steep, the competition was tough and the experience was an eye opener…

We know in order to make the jump to the next level, we will simply have to train harder and smarter.

We are leaving the Games enriched, motivated and as better athletes (and coach).

This team does not lack anything in effort, guts, will and determination. And for that reason, we can hold our heads up high. They fought, clawed and left everything on the competition floor!

This sport is hard! And it is made for tough people. To compete against professional and semi-professional athletes, and to hold your own takes special humans and athletes.

But it also takes support from our family members, loved ones and our community.

Our family members and supporters sacrifice and suffer in another way. And we are aware of their sacrifices…

As an athlete, when you don’t reach the goals you set out to achieve, you can easily feel like you have let your family and loved ones down. Because of the sacrifices they make to get you to this spot.

Although we haven’t achieved our goal of finishing in the top 20, we trust and hope we have made you proud. As a team, we gave it everything we had! But it was not enough.

Disappointed, but not disheartened. Failed, but not quitters. We walked of the competition floor with our heads held high. Knowing we gave it everything we had. And that is all you can ever ask of an athlete.

Thank you for all the support. We wouldn’t have been here if it wasn’t for you. Every message. Every donation. Every prayer and word of support! It made a difference!! THANK YOU! We couldn’t have done it without you.

Upwards and onwards. We will be back…
